European Meats is closing

According to a staff member the business will close at the beginning of April. We will really miss the place because it's our every day butcher. First we lost our produce store at Queen and Euclid and now European Meat. It is becoming increasingly difficult to shop in this neighbourhood! I can't afford to shop at Sanagan's or the Healthy Butcher every day.

Oh my, I was devastated when I read this in the wee hours on Saturday morning. Where on earth am I going to buy my smoked turkey legs from???? Especially at that great price! The turkey legs are a staple of mine for my fabulous Slow Cooker Pea soup. I am usually pretty good with change, but not losses. This is sad.

COSTCO and NOFRILLS both carry inexpensive smoked turkey legs.

I would say that the OP is clearly referring to the Kensington Market location.

The Kipling and ??? location is packed every time I go there.

Edit. Their website is one page with the logos they use and it simply says "Bigger and Better."

Perhaps they're moving?? That spot in Kensington is pretty sorry looking.

i hope they're just moving! i would be very very sad to see them go. i rely heavily on them for bacon.
