One last try at Rome itinerary

Have read a ton and made many changes, my husband just keeps shaking his head :)

Thursday dinner: La Gensola

Friday: lunch at Pizzarium pre Vatican visit, dinner Giggetto (struggled with mixed opinions on this but cannot justify Piperno cost, would have to change La Gensola)

Saturday: lunch L'asino d'oro, evening Palatium

Sunday: lunch Perilli, evening 'Gusto or Enoteca elsewhere in city (maybe Roscioli for antipasti/wine?)

Thank you all so much for all of the guidance and help.

  1. I'm sure you will get plenty of comments suggesting you consider an alternative to Giggetto--it's okay, but nothing special. If it were me, I'd go to Pipero al Rex.

As to Gusto--that would be a waste. Not sure about opening on Sunday night, but I'd look at Cafe Universale, Casa Bleve, Cul de Sac, or Roscioli.

Thanks Geraldl, I am looking for a Jewish Ghetto restaurant, hence Giggetto. The more I look at all the negative reviews, the more I am considering saying forget it and go for Piperno instead. In the long run 50euro is not going to put our whole trip over budget! LOL.

what do you not like about 'Gusto?

What most people don't like about Gusto is ... the food. But in its favor we might say that it offers many possibilities for different appetites on Sunday evening, when so many places are closed. I would always prefer Piperno over Giggetto, but I wouldn’t really make the choice based on money. Giggetto is plainer, but it is hardly a bargain.

thank you mbfant, I have been trying to see how much of a difference in cost they would be.
