Staying off E. Mission bay drive (hilton)
First time poster. I've tried to follow the rules, please excuse if i still stepped on toes. I'm coming to town next Thursday 3/1, here's what im looking for:
1.i'm looking for some awesome margaritas, preferably made with fresh juice and strong :).
2. Killer Mexican food.
3. Awesome atmosphere, i like loud and fun. Love fun sports bars and really unique places to that particular city.
4. I also love dive bars and restaurants, under the radar spots that locals visit.
5. Also looking for great happy hour specials.
I hope this isn't too extensive. I've been recommended these places: Fred's Mexican restaurant, jimmy loves, whiskey girl, shout house, and bubs. I really just want to experience SD, and not the touristy way. Thanks ahead of time!!! Sorry if i didnt follow all of the rules.

Tons of dive bars in the beach areas near where you are staying.
Pacific beach, Mission beach, Ocean beach.
Can't recommend any because i don't go to them.
For margaritas I would buy a good bottle of tequila and pour it into a innocent looking water bottle.
Order the cheapest margarita on the menu and when no one is looking give it shot from your "water" bottle. I do this all the time.
Too many mexican places to even start with and everybody has a different opinion about them.›1 Reply
