I know it's been discussed in 2009 but have been looking and can't find any sable fish (black cod) for sale anywhere. Any ideas ???

  1. it's not quite in season yet.

    1. Insert "Alaskan butterfish" joke here.

That guy has seriously got to give it a rest. He's a clown for going with it again at the White House after the earlier press.

      2. hotoy may well be correct but i would still call courthouse fish and kim at capt. marden's and ask them.
and maybe typhoonfish will chime in here.

season generally starts in march, but with this wacky non-winter who knows, lol. there also isn't a lot of it available retail -- most goes directly to restaurants.

        2. Ebisuya in Medford often has it. I'd also check H-Mart.

          1. I bought a lovely piece last year at New Deal Fish Market in Cambridge, so I know they have had it in the past (I don't get there very often). You could give them a call and see if they have.
