Lunch recommendation needed ASAP [moved from Pennsylvania]

I am taking a friend for a birthday lunch tomorrow, Thursday. We will be in the Bala area, so we can go out on the Main Line or over to Conshohocken, Mt Airy or Chestnut Hill. I would like something with a pleasant ambience, but more importantly with good food. She does not eat seafood, so this can not be the primary focus of the restaurant.

I would appreciate any suggestions---

Chestnut Hill you may have good luck with Cake. I haven't yet been but it gets good reviews. Inventive sandwiches and salads.

I like Agiato in Manayunk, though it has lost a bit of its spark since the head chef left a little bit less than a year ago. It makes very good sandwiches that come with an almost comically small salad. Also Coopers is good in Manayunk and serves lunch. An American type place that has pizzas and small plates as well. Alcohol is a little bit expensive, but if you're not drinking you can get out of there without losing your shirt.

Another place that gets decent reviews, but I've never been, is Isabella in Conshohocken. They do tapas.

Hopefully that will give you at least a start.

Two other recommendations in Manayunk: Chabba Thai for good thai food, and the newest Han Dynasty.

In Conshohocken you have Blackfish which is reasonably priced for lunch and does serve good food (and even given its name does not specialize in seafood... ) as well as Chianmai for Thai food.

You will probably have more luck posting this on the Philly board since the areas you mention are usually considered Philly suburbs. Best wishes!
