Estadio or Jaleo?

Will be in DC for the first time second weekend in March, trying to decide between the two. Any advice? Also, any other small-plate format places to not miss? Staying at the Rouge in the Dupont-ish area.

For small plates, I would recommend Zaytinya (Mediterranean), Bar Pilar (just make sure they're done with their renovations and are serving food again by the time of your visit), and I've heard good things about Graffiato (Italian). I actually also like Zengo (Asian-Latin fusion), but there is disagreement on this.

There are Jaleos in Bethesda and Crystal City as well; I believe just the Penn Quarter one is undergoing renovations.

I hear Estadio is great too, but haven't been.

Estadio is great (and try the cocktails!), but it's more expensive than Jaleo.

I love Jaleo and always well, but Estadio is way more delicious, and also a more-beautiful space (though I can't wait to see what the new Jaleo ends up looking like). If you go to Estadio, make sure you get the kale. And if you're a drinker, make sure you see what cocktail icees they have.

Check that... just saw Jaleo will be closed for renovations while I'm there. Bummer.
