Removing oneself from Thread

If there is a link to how to do this just reply with that, but is there a way to stop following a thread or remove it from the list of ones you want showing up each time they are updated?

So the short answer is.. nothing has or will be done.

        Hi burgeoningfoodie,

Nothing has been done, but it doesn't mean nothing will be done. We are looking forward to investigating this when we have time (possibly in the next couple months).

        Thank you,

        Meredith of CHOW

I realize this can be quite an undertaking. And Servog thank you for the link.

In the name of all that's holy, I presume.

I think what's really needed is not to be able to remove oneself from a thread but to have a flag (a variant of the "new" flag) that indicates when there is a reply to something one has previously posted in response to the discussion/question. I have no interest in reading the latest in the 1000+ posts on strange food combinations. However, if someone posts a question regarding something I posted on that thread a couple of years ago, I would like to know (without having to spend a day on it) so that I can answer and not leave them hanging. It would be easy enough to just ignore it when a "new" flag resurrects an old thread that no longer interests me so long as I know the new post does not directly pertain to my previous participation in that thread.
