I'm hijacking this thread a bit, but I'm wondering what are some good options for dinner on a Sunday night that are within a cab ride away from the Del Mar fairgrounds. Moderate price, American, Italian, seafood...a good place to sober up after a wine tasting event. Thanks!

Through the years have had great sandwiches at Board and Brew but sometimes I've found it's best to call in your sandwiches since wait times on Saturday at lunch can be a long time and little seating..patio is your best bet or take it down to the beach.
It's a dive of a deli and usually parking in the back is open but not guaranteed. -

re: pantani
Agreed, Bangkok Bay is your best bet for Thai in that area. Claire's is my favorite in Solana Beach...you can call ahead and let them know you will be coming. They will write down the name and time you called, which will make your wait shorter. I find the wait to be pretty pleasant...
Lockwood Cafe in SB is pretty good too.

Il Fornaio is a small italian chain with a location in Del Mar, and the food is very good. Here is the menu:

re: Beach Chick
On Saturday, the wait at Claires can be a real pain. I know Sbicca gets no love on this board, but the front patio on a nice day, things could be a lot worse. I am not sure if Red Tractons is finished with their remodel. I was in a couple of weeks ago, and it was kinda dusty in there.
