Places for dinner in Harrisburg PA.

BonnieB. Feb 20, 2012 07:43 AM

We're going to be in Harrisburg in March and we'll have one night for dinner with a small group.
Any bar and grills with good food, fun place or just a moderately priced steak house? Not sure what everyone will want but I'm sure after a long day they'll want to have some fun and good food.
Thanks for any info:)

Do you want to stay downtown?

If you are willing to cross the river, The Rock Bass is good and has nice views of the city. Duke's satisfies the bar and grill and fun requirement but I do not think their food is good. It isn't awful, it is your basic burgers and fries.

It has been years since I visited but Tavern on the Hill remains popular but the prices aren't moderate.

Momo's BBQ has a pretty good beer selection and great food (try the smoked-then-fried wings).

Appalachian Brewing Co. is a fun and loud place for a group, and not expensive. The food doesn't knock my socks off, but it certainly isn't bad. It's decent bar food with selections for everyone.

Oh yes, I agree. We visit a couple of times a year and the food is always "good enough" The setting is very pleasant and the beer is good.
