Scarduzio's in Atlantic City
My husband & I decided on a Friday jaunt to AC this week, to blow off some steam, get out of town. We were able to get a very nice room in the Showboat, so we took it. Checked in about 8 played some games and decided to see if we could get a table @ Scarduzio's... the menu looked interesting, really we thought we:d have some sushi.
The place was nearly empty so they sat us immediately. The staff is friendly and professional. Our waiter was appropriately present but never intrusve...
He did such an excellent job of selling the aged prime that that my husband and I decided to only share a spider rol as an appetizer and we each got a steak with lobster mashed potatoes to share.
The spider roll was good, the tempura on the crab was a little sweet, I still can't decide if it was too sweet or not.
My husband ordeed the filet, and I orderes a rib-eye. Both medium rare.
When our steaks arrived, his was.still sizzling and the last visable trace of herbed butter was melting
My steak, however had an ice cold pat of butter still sitting on top.
Husband cuts his first bite and begins the OMG this is amayzing moan, I cut my steak and there was no trace of pink left in the middle. The waiter came over to check on us and I showe him my cold over cooked steak. He immediately took it away. A manager came and apologized and offered me anothrr glass of wine on them.
So meantime while my hubby is enjoying his steak... the lavash and corn bread are both VERY good, the lobster mashed were okay, they had nice pieces of lobster, but were over whipped and a litle gluey.
So my new sreak arrives and it is the misshapen end piece from the whole roast... the piece that has none of that beautiful cap of fatty meat surrounding the tender "eye" of lean meat in the middle. Oh well at least it was hot and cooked to proper temperature.
Through all the service was excellent though we will more than likely not go back.
