Curry in LA, that tastes like Tokyo.

Where has anyone tasted a curry rice in Los Angeles, that comes close to the popular standard taste in Tokyo?

Foo Foo Tei, I thought was surprisingly on point.
There was an ok place at Mitsuwa Torrance food court, but it closed.
Coco Ichibanya, while its good, its not the right flavor.
Honestly, Curry House and Hurry Curry are ok but don't even come close.

I'm really craving a good bowl of curry... that I can close my eyes to, and feel like I'm in Japan.

Same, I was surprised as I go there as much for their rice dishes as ramen.

I usually hate curry ramen, but their is the BEST! They also do a Curry OmRice which is one of my favorite dishes in L.A....

Must try! Is the curry inside or on top?

On top and they also have Curry Omurice with tonkatsu as well. It's so much food for the money!

        1. Not in Los Angeles, but I've had very good chicken katsu curry rice plates recently at Kosuke in Alhambra

          1. I don't know how Tokyo's curry tastes, but I do like the curry at Tamatebako in Torrance.

              +1 on tamatebako.

still haven't gone to foo foo tei, but i prefer all of the following to coco ichibanya, which is a shade on the bland side, imo:

friday night chicken curry at hasu
              beef curry at casa arigato
the small bowl of curry rice at miyabi-tei
