Corkage in Manhattan/Brooklyn

I'm planning an elaborate celebration for our anniversary.
Perhaps the Gotham Bar or similar quality.

In San Francisco, where I live, I always bring wine and
happily pay the corkage fee. I'm wondering if you can do
that in a fine N.Y. restaurant, and, if so, how much are
the fees?

Thanks

There are a great number of top places that have corkage policies... the better places tend to be $25 and up per bottle. (Gotham happens to be $45/bottle)

Eleven Madison Park is $35, Per Se is something like $90 (still a deal if you saw their list prices and you're planning on drinking something good) ..

Danny Meyer's places (EMP/Gramercy Tavern/Union Sq cafe/ The Modern) tend to be very good about corkage and be nice places for a celebration. I am particularly fond of The Modern at the moment. And if you are doing something big and getting a private room with 10 people or something many will work deals. My last wine dinner at Eleven Madison involved about 8 people and at a flat fee we got all the bottles we wanted for that fee, a private sommelier and really excellent wine service.
