French, Italian, Med Restaurant on N. La Cienega?

EarlyBird Feb 15, 2012 08:45 AM

My wife and I will be meeting another couple at an art gallery on La Cienega situated between Melrose and Santa Monica Blvds. (just a bit south of West Hollywood), and we are looking for a restaurant, preferably within walking distance, for a dinner around 7:30 - 8:00 p.m.

I know there is a lot of dining venues up there, but it's been so long I don't know what is there any more. We'd like something moderately priced that is Italian, French, Mediterranean, seafood, or "California," you know, that sort of feel.

You could try Mezze, closer to Beverly on La Cienega, a mix of Contemporary, Fusion, Greek, Jewish, Lebanese, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Moroccan, Tapas, Turkish, Vegetarian and it's good too.

I like Mezze, tho it is quite a bit further south to walk to. You might look at Fig and Olive, Comme Ca, or Il Piccolino as well.

On Melrose Place right off La Cienega....Fig and Olive. Fabulous food and wonderful service.
Il Piccolino on Robertson between Melrose and Santa Monica. I eat there at least once a week. Their prawns with squid pasta is seriously divine.
Both within walking distance from where you'll be.

Those are two GREAT choices. I love Il Piccolino and eat there often. Only once at Fig but it was very good and a great scene. Cant go wrong with either but a reservation at Fig will be challenging on short notice.
