Keene NH Lunch

We will be in Keene, NH next week and are looking for a place to have a nice lunch. It does not have to be fancy just good and offering things kids would like (burgers, pizza, chicken, etc.). I know there are some places in the center of town but which ones are good? Any suggestions? Jay

  1. Lucas Mediterranean Cafe is ,my favorite restaurant in Keene proper:
Thai Garden on Main Street has very good Thai Food:
Fritz Belgian Fries on Main Street: Belgian fries with variety of sauces; burgers and sandwiches.

Thanks, these look great but except for Fritz I am not sure our fussy kids would like these. Any thoughts on Elm City Brewery, Ramunto Pizza or Port Authority Cafe? Jay

Elm City has average pub food (apps, burgers, sandwiches, etc) , decent beer. Haven't been there in at least a year, though. I've only been to the Ramunto's up in Lebanon, NH, but thought the pizza was good there and they had lots of toppings choices. Have not been to Port Authority.

We were kind of unimpressed with Fritz, but it is a very casual atmosphere. I have had good lunches with our kids at Keene Fresh Salad Co. It is a self-serve restaurant, but they have sandwiches, salads and soups. We wanted to try Luca's but the main restaurant was closed and the cafe didn't seem to have anything that looked very enticing...not sure what was going on there the day we went!

      3. Penuche's! Kidding. Kind of.
