Looking for a birthday spot, mains (12-17$)- with a round table for 8-10

Hey,
I would like to host my 27th birthday party at a restaurant. I am looking for ideas, would like a table that promotes conversation and ideally isn't a long rectangle. For about 8-10 people.
Maybe Italian or continental- preferably not seafood or Asian.
Any ideas?
Also not too pricey!
Thanks chowhounds!

  1. OnB Cafe in Oakville place has a great backroom you can book. They will also work with you to create a custom menu for your party.

That being said- the food is good, but not great in my opinion. But it's consistent. The service is fantastic...and even though the table is rectangular- the room really does promote a great intimate atmosphere.

Thanks but I am looking for some place in Toronto city proper

    2. With mains around $12-$17, I'd imagine Terroni, with Bannock and Gabardine on the slightly higher end (and exceeding slightly) of your range. Gabardine has your best bet on food, but it's small and I'm not sure how they'd cram you in.

Oh! Enoteca Sociale would be good. Especially if you can book their cheese cellar. I think you're the right number. Prices are about right for mains (except the bistecca).

But to be honest, I can't think of a place that isn't a long rectangle except for a Chinese restaurant. Not many places have things set up in a more group-friend format, unless you get the really big tables at corporate restos seating 15-20.

      1. I recall there being round tables at Canyon Creek, but I could be wrong. You could call.

        1. I think Biff's has a round table for 8. Might want to call and check, if Biff's isn't too pricey for you.
