Lunch on the way to La Rioja

Can anyone please recommend a good restaurant to stop by for lunch. I will be driving from Madrid to Elceigo (in La Rioja) on Monday May 14th and I am looking for somewhere to stop by in the country or small village and have a good lunch with my wife.

Thank you in advance.

  1. Casa Antón at Lerma (province of Burgos) is an unpretentious restaurant serving delicious roast lamb and basic salads. Also, Lerma is a nice village to stroll.

      Thank you JuanDoe,

You put Lerma on the map for me as a very viable stop during my drive, I really appreciate it. This is exactly the type of place I am looking for.

Are you local to the region, or do you travel there a lot? If so, would you mind terribly taking a look at my other thread and commenting when you have a chance.

      Thanks again.
