Good eats around Kent St Univ (OH)?

I've done the search of previous threads and haven't found much. Is that because there's not much there, or....

Looking for CH type of food for a couple of dinners.

When I was getting my graduate degree at Kent I was a big fan of Taco Tanto's. They introduced me to the amazing combination of sweet potato and black bean.

Ray's Place is also popular and has good pub food, but lots of students. Looking at their website I see Michael Symon recently gave their burgers a shout out on the Food Network. I didn't see the episode, but they do have good burgers.

If you are looking for something a little more upscale, try The Bistro on Main. I have not eaten there, but have heard great things from friends.

Another restaurant I haven't had a chance to get to, but have always wanted to try is Moe's in Cuyahoga Falls (Just a short ways from Kent

Thanks--I'd heard about The Bistro on Main, but not the others.

I had the burger and some chili cheese fries at Ray's. The chili cheese fries were bland and the fries weren't crisp. I tried someone else's fried mushrooms and those weren't good either.

I've never been, but I've read about Taco Tanto's and I would try it if I ever had any reason to go back to Kent.

So I've been to Taco Tanto's and was not impressed. It's not bad, just not great. Store-bought tortillas, salsas=nothing special, and the sweet potato/black bean tacos are just that--boiled sweet potatoes and beans sans seasoning in a tortilla w. shredded lettuce and pale tomatoes.
