Food to bring to a Mardi Gras Ball

We are going to a ball this year with some friends (six of us total), and have been tasked with bringing the food. We were thinking of ordering from Cochon Butcher, Verti Marte or Rouses (in that order). Any other good ideas? No seafood because one guest is allergic. We are open otherwise. Unfortunately, we are based in the quarter and due to scheduling/traffic will not be able to go uptown to Langensteins or Martins. Thanks in advance!

  1. A couple of times, we have ordered mini-muffalettas from Rouses, plus a couple of cheeses, crackers, some nice olives, and some kind of nuts. I don't know whether the FQ Rouses does the mini-muffs, but the Warehouse District one does.

    1. Now, are you going to be a "call out?" If so, you do not want food in your teeth.

Bill, the balls to which you bring food aren't that kind of ball. They CALL them balls, but it's not at all like the old-time balls at the Auditorium.

      2. Check with Martin's catering. They may deliver the food right to the ball so you don't have to schlepp it yourself.
