What sweet is your daily pleasure? Do you have just one thing that makes your day? [moved from Home Cooking]
I went into the pantry today to grab my daily intake of my sweet pleasure.
I grabbed the jar of Black Strap Molasses and a soup spoon and enjoyed my delicious one [for sure] sweet of the day. It's also been said that a TB of molasses a day kept your hair dark, so it's beneficial.
MIL used to have her treat every day of an Oreo opened up, a half slice of American cheese in half again and she'd put one small square of cheese on top of the white cookie filling, put the chocolate top back on, turn it over and with a knife she'd separate that white disc of filling from other side put the other small square of cheese on the chocolate part of cookie and reassemble it. The face she made while biting into this treat of hers was priceless.
Share your guilty pleasure.

We usually keep semi-sweet chocolate chips in the freezer (our kitchen gets fairly toasty) and I have picked up the habit of having a handful washed down with milk on a very regular basis. I don't quite know what it is about crunching on those hard little bits and washing them down with the milk, but it has become a habit :)

I love black strap molasses, too, although I am/was a blond (now maintained with regular trips to the hair salon!). Never heard that it kept your hair dark!
My sweets change daily, but when there is a box of chocolates around, that will be my first choice.

re: jeanmarieok
my beautiful husband would gladly jump on your bandwagon. his favorite flavor is lemon anything. with mom's Myer lemon tree close enough, ok, 51 miles one way, I stock up. those chocolate ginger cookies are still in the house, maybe I should freeze them and make him a lemon square with lemon curd today, bet he'd love that. thanks for reminding me jeanmarie

hmmm...my "sweet" is probably homemade wheat crackers with maple cream cheese "dip"...
I blend cream cheese, a bit of milk, and maple syrup and dip my cinnamon wheat crackers (homemade) into it. DELICIOUS!
Sometimes I add pumpkin to my cracker batter and have pumpkin wheat crackers and maple cream cheese--also amazing!

I'm a bit at a loss to top an Oreo cheese sandwich :)...but any day when I can have a Ritter Sport Peppermint chocolate bar is a great day, and I have them on more days than I should. Kept in the freezer for as long as I can stand to wait, it's perfection.
