Italian Restaurant in the 30s or 40s on the East Side

We will be in the city for one one night on our way to Asia in March and would love a great Italian dinner before we leave he next day. Price is no object and we will be three people at an early hour, around sevenish.

We are staying at the Setai and wanted a more casual restaurant with great pasta and veal. My husband ate at Ai Fiori when he was staying at the Setai on business last year and really enjoyed it. We just want a lighter meal before a 16 hour flight the next day.
