I just bought a pound (2 lobes) of (fresh) cod roe from HMart. Any suggestions on what do with it?
I poached it. Unfortunately there was a tear in the covering, which expanded as it cooked. So about half ended up as loose sandy texture. Part though was sliceable. So far I've just eaten some cold.
Koreans would make a spicy seafood soup with it.
If it's fresh I would have some raw - try a little bit over sushi rice with some soy and wasabi or something.
You could also salt it and make caviar/jeotgal out of it.
I also like ipse's idea. :)
Parboil, then slice, then pan fry and serve with some rice with a soy-ginger-horseradish sauce.
