Don't know if this has been posted but the author of Modernist Cuisine presented a TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) talk on how he captured the photographs in his books.

Anyway, apparently there's a recipe for "Ballistics Gel" in the book so there's fantastic footage of such a block of gel being pierced by a bullet.
