Scarpetta - Is the spaghetti w/tomato THAT good??

I'm going to scarpetta soon, and have heard so much about the spaghetti that I really want to try it. But.... it is just spaghetti in tomato sauce. Is it that good? Better than the other pastas? I probably won't be back at scarpetta any time soon (the last time I was there was 2 years ago) so I want to order as well as possible :)

Thanks!

Yes it's very good, worth the price? I don't think so.

It might be the best spaghetti with tomato/basil you'll ever have, but if you imagine even a perfect combination of that flavor profile and don't think it's worth $24 then you should order something you find more appealing/interesting. I enjoy the spaghetti quite a bit but am also a big fan of the black tagliolini, the duck/foie ravioli, and the short rib/bone marrow agnolotti. The black cod is another must-order for me. Enjoy!

You can approximate the same spaghetti at home (it's a simple but very tasty technique, you can find recipes for) so I've opted to order the already mentioned ravioli and agnolotti. Both are excellent, providing you like richer, and sweeter pasta dishes. That said, neither completely satisfied me as a main, so I think ideally I would split a pasta as a starter the next time. I also really enjoyed their desserts, which are interesting.

I liked it, but didn't find it $24 good.

I liked it, but didn't think it was better than foie ravioli.

If it is the same preparation as the Miami location, I think the foie ravioli blows it away.

I got the spaghetti! And it really was that good.

Everything was delicious (amazing bread basket, polenta w/mushrooms, foie & duck ravioli, baby goat) but the spaghetti really was such a tasty, simple dish. So glad I ordered it.

loved the goat! I somehow missed the foie and duck ravioli... what a shame, I'll have to return.
BTW the ambiance and service there is fantastic. Apparently Scott Conant really is a mensch (which is a good thing) and treats everyone from customers to servers really well - everyone loves him!
