Dinner rec- possibly near Stoneleigh Hotel

Hi, I'm in Dallas for one night next Monday. I've been searching threads, but haven't found "the one" yet. I'll be with my mother and aunt and am looking for a semi-casual, fun place for dinner. I'm pregnant and will adore just about anything on a plate, but my family is a little picky. I was thinking about Samar, but didn't know if it would be a little too out there for my mom. Has anyone been there with a "meat & pots" companion, if so, did they like it? Thanks for any suggestions!

  1. I've not been to Samar yet, but nothing I've heard has led me to believe it's a meat and potatoes place. I'd suggest calling them and asking what they can do for your M&P people. Might be something on the menu, or maybe they can go off menu for you. http://www.samarrestaurant.com/Dinner... I see they have coffee-rubbed hanger steak with fenugreek mashed potatoes and roasted cauliflower. If that sounds too exotic, I'd call. And don't be afraid to play the pregnant lady card ;) I'm craving the candied rose petal sauce on the menu at Samar ... It does everyone good to venture outside their comfort zone and try something new, is what I believe :) Btw, I've found Bolla at the Stoneleigh to be on the mediocre side.

You could try the new Del Frisco's Grille. I'd probably go for Salum, though.

        Ditto Salum.
