L. A to Mammoth and Mammoth

I ask every year and still do not have a good place to stop between L A and Mammoth. Is there anything new? I would also apreciate recs for Mammoth. Thanks so much!

Culinary wasteland. I am no fan of Schat's myself. Whiskey Creek is okay if you just want basics.

Stop at Meadow Farms in Bishop for their famous beef jerky and get a sandwich! The sandwiches are really good, especially The Rodeo.

Had a terrific dinner at The Restaurant at Convict Lake, elk tenderloin. Here's their website http://www.convictlake.com/restaurant...

It's more than short drive from the mountain, but they offer shuttle service, so you can drink your wine and let someone else do the driving.

Not quite sure what you are looking for, or your price range, but Erick Schat's Bakkery
763 N. Main Street, Bishop, CA 93514, is an interesting place. I particularly like their jalapeno-cheese bread. There are a number of other restaurants in Bishop that may do, but its the 395 and a great burger is probably the best you can hope for. Hopefully there will be snow when you get to Mammoth.
