HELP! Authetic wood burning oven pizza place west of the GTA

Can anyone please suggest an authetic wood burning oven pizza place west of the GTA in either Mississauga, Oakville or Burlington area?

I need to plan a second date with an Italian guy I really like who is from Italy and been here for 8 years :-)

  1. There is a place at Southdown and Royal Windsor called Casalinga. I have not been though so can't comment on quality.

There is a place in Oakville on KERR ST called Fantastico.Excellent thin crust pizza with very fresh toppings and homemade dough and sauce. The oven is one of those domed brick ovens that he adds wood to.One of the best no chain pizza i have ever had

7 Enoteca - downtown Oakville town square...very authentic - and amazing.

Unfortunately I had a different experience and I would not recommend 7 Enoteca. The pizzas were underdone and it was too uncomfortably chewy. Also, they were incredibly skimpy on the toppings when compared to Pizza e Pazzi (my current favourite). The taste of my pizza was too subtle and I just felt like I was tasting bland dough. None of the topping flavours came out.

Also, service was horredous. For lunch, it took 2 hours and 15 minutes for a salad and pizza to be done. We watched them make the pizza and it maybe took 7 minutes max... so you figure that out!

I agree that it tasted like the pizza was a bit "underdone" when I had it last night. I am used to Pizza Libretto , QMP, etc. I still enjoyed my meal but it could have used another 30 seconds in the oven. I did enjoy the flavour though.

Our service was pretty good, it was an early evening dinner on a Tuesday and they were busy but we received food relatively quickly. I recommend ordering/sharing one pizza and getting some sides. Had the spicy rapini and kale/grapes dish.

I will likely go back as it is definitely has a good vibe compared to some half dead spots down town Oakville.
