30th Birthday Dinner in Baltimore

I have searched the board and haven't been able to find exactly what I am looking for. I am planning a night out for my husband's 30th birthday. We are meeting friends at our house and then having a Limo pick us up to take us to dinner and a night on the town. It will be about 15 people. I wanted to find a place that could accommodate us and possibly do some sort of prix fix menu so my guest know what to expect in terms of cost. I called Petit Louis but they could only give us a 5pm seating. Any other suggestions?

  1. How about B&O American Brasserie they have extended restaurant week.

Celebrated my cousin 40th birthday there last Sat.
Click link below of other restaurants that have extended restaurant week

    1. What about the Wine Market or Dogwood? I have been to similar events at both, which turned out really well.

      1. I have had success with groups at LaScala in Little Italy...

        1. Perhaps you could check out Tabrizi's. They host many weddings, so a birthday party should be easy for the restaurant to accommodate. I'm sure that Mr. Michael Tabrizi would work with you regarding a prix fixe menu. FoiGras

          1. We did something very similar for a friends 50 Th. Had 14 people at Pazo. Host worked with them to create specialty cocktails and a 10 course tasting menu which they printed and placed on each plate. Sat upstairs. Neat place, food was generally very good except for a miss here and there. Fun evening and staff was very accomidating.

Another option would be Grace Garden a crummy but fantastic BYOB authentic Chinese restaurant near fort Meade. We went with 12 people and pre ordered a menu including items that require a 3 day advance notice. Search it on this page and you will see why people think it might be the best Chinese restaurant outside of china. Came to $75 per couple with an extremely generous tip. Really fun evening. Menu avail at gracegardenchinese.com including realistic pictures.

I love GG but "best Chinese restaurant outside of China" sounds like irrational exuberance to me.

If you read the thread on GG there was a post from a Chinese guy who moved here from china who stated that. I have never been to China so I wouldn't know

Wolf/Foreman does an excellent job with parties/private dining. Pazo has a few different private rooms, and Cinghiale has the farmhouse table in the Osteria side, as well as a private room off the Enoteca.

              3. Blu Stone in Timonium has a separate party room and I'm sure they could accommodate you. I also agree the Tabrizi's suggestion.

                1. Have you thought about Tio Pepe's? My husband had my 30th birthday there. They have a large round table which is great when you have a large crowd and you want to be able to converse with everyone.

I first thought of Tios when I saw the inital request. They have some really cool small fining rooms where you would all fit around one table. Couple that with some sangria and I am sure they would work on menu with you. I have celebrated with simular size crowds many times.....

                  2. Cinghiale has a few prixe fix menus, can easily accommodate a group that size (I've had 18 people there before), and has wonderful food and an excellent wine list. You can do the Prezzo Fisso menu for $59/person ($89/person with wine pairings) for 4 courses or the more simplified La Cucina Della Nonna menu for $29/person for 3 smaller courses.

The service there is excellent as well. I can't wait to be able to get back up there for another meal!

I've also had a large group at B&O American Brasserie, the food was great and the service was fairly good, but not as notable as Cinghiale.

                    1. With apologies to all who abhor chain restaurants, we did a limo and dinner at Oceannaire for my sister's bachelorette party. They have a private room that can accommodate 15 people and did a focused and reasonably priced menu for us. They were quite attentive and easy to work with for both pre-planning and on the night of the dinner. The food was also quite tasty. We then took the limo to Canton and Fells Point, and I'm sad to say I don't remember much else of the evening. :-) Enjoy your celebration!

                      1. I could not believe the reviews I've read on Mother's Grille in Federal Hill. I would not have considered it an upscale dining place more of just a pub bur the food is dynamite. Would not have believed it had I not seen the crablcake platter photos myself. here is a review http://bigfatdaddys.blogspot.com/2012...

Nothing like combining old style baltimore pub with good food and dining experience. This would be if you are looking to explore the upscale Federal Hill area's pubs and dining all in one. You can walk to other places and it's really a cute area.

As it turns out there is a private room there to accomodate people but reservations probably requierd. According to this article, parking is behind for the limo ha ha

Not sure if you are looking for something fancier then I would suggest Ruth's Chris Steak House in the Inner Harbor, Baltimore MD which has very good steaks you can cut the filets with a butter knife and reservations must be made for large parties. Very pricey but delish!

                        Happy Birthday !
