Where to buy fresh, shelled lobster?

JENNYBEEAY Feb 6, 2012 07:00 PM

I am going to be making a composed lobster salad. Does anyone out there have some suggestions for a good place to buy fresh, shelled lobster on the peninsula?

I don't believe I've ever seen lobster sold shelled.

It's pretty quick and easy to shell and probably best to buy live, cook, then shell.

BTW, I believe Eastern lobs are considered much tastier during the summer months; Dungeness??

costco has some in the section near where they have packaged cheese, etc but if you can get it fresh that's probably better.

Have you contacted Cook's Seafood in Menlo Park? Their record is 100% for us, but I cannot say if the shelled lobster is available now.

I hadn't thought of that option...thanks. It's right in my backyard too.
