Scandinavian restaurants in Montreal?
Any places where I can find Scandinavian cuisine? Norwegian would be my real hunkering for, but I will settle for Scandinavian in general. I go for brunch at Cafe Ellefsen from time to time and it is a good start for some things but not enough choice. When desperate, I eat at the IKEA restaurant and I shop for some of the ingredients at the store there (jams and pickled herring) or Jean Talon market (brunost, spekeskinke, etc) but I am looking for real alternatives to my own cooking and for more diversity. Anything? I would be willing to drive quite far for it! Thanks a million!

Thanks for all the suggestions SnackHappy! I knew about the Norwegian Church but I will check out the rest! I guess I will have to keep ordering some of the ingredients by mail and cook myself, there are a couple of online stores that I use, if anyone else is interested, here goes a link.

I will definitely check out Bistro Part Ici as well!

And last but not least, here's a big page of links from the Canadian Nordic Society.

Although Finland is not part of Scandinavia you might also be interested in the Finnish Church's activities. They also had a Christmas bazar, last year.

Here's something that might interest you, and that we should keep an eye on for this year's Food Events thread. The Norwegian Church Association had a Christmas sale, last year. There were food items available as well as crafts. Hopefully they'll have another one, this year.

FWIW, Bistro Part Ici claims to be Scandinavian-inspired. I've no idea if it's good or not. I haven't heard anything about the place one way or another.
