ISO best Tawainese Pei-Gu-Fun (Pork-Chop Rice)

Can someone make a recommendation for the best Tawaiwanese Pei-Gu-Fun (Pork-Chop Rice) in the San Gabriel Valley? Thanks!

We always get the pork chop noodle soup or rice combo when we got to Shau May in Rowland Heights, at the Hong Kong Supermarket plaza. Had the pork chop at Din Tai Fung also - it's a bit more refined, but I like the peasant style at Shau May better, if you don't mind a little fat.

I think the noodle version is better than the rice version - the chewy noodles provide more of a contrast to the pork chops.

Another place to try would be Brochette, at the back of the shopping mall along the Pomona Freeway at Fullerton Road (Diamond Plaza?)

I second the pork chop fried rice at DTF- it's always been one of my non-dumpling goto dishes there.

Try Won Won Kitchen in Temple City. It's located in the mall behind the Donut Star establishment:

          9461 Las Tunas Dr.
          Temple City

My favorite would definitely be Nice Time Deli on Baldwin and Arcadia. I've been going there since I was a kid back when they were at their Focus Plaza location. I may be a bit biased due to nostalgia, but I feel they do it best. The pork chop is deep fried (I think) in an almost sweet coating that I just find absolutely delicious. This is how I first had it and how I'll always like it. Cheers!

are they still there? i stopped going there a year or 2 ago cause the service dropped off and the quality, imo, started to taper big time.

Well, I don't think the service was ever "good", but it worked. As for the quality I think it's gone down a bit too, but still pretty decent and still my favorite pai gu fan, I don't really order much else other than the ou ah jin.

service matters, especially when you order 5 dishes and 1 or 2 of them never arrive.

I like the Pai Gu Fan at Old Country Cafe. I've been to Class 302. Food's suprisingly good. Small, simple menu.

Try Lee's Garden, on the corner of Atlantic and Valley, inside the same shopping center as Del Taco, on the southeast corner. Excellent Pai Gu Fan.

I am by no means a Taiwanese food expert (though I do like SinBaLA), but I really like the pork chop fried rice at Din Tai Fung. PLus you can get dumplings while you're at it. No Guinea pigging required.

There's a place at the end of Diamond Plaza off Fullerton Road. Pork chop (rice, noodle, etc.) supposed to be their specialty. I think they rent the place in the daytime and serve pork chops and at nightime it's a beer house. It's the last shop next to the large locale that used to be a 99 Ranch.
                    Sorry for being so vague...

Here's another one you can take for the team by being the first to try. The sign on the outside says Class 302, but on the inside it's "Legendary Taiwan Grill." It's outside of the 99 Ranch Market, 1015 S. Nogales St., #125 in Rowland Heights.

Interested in taking one for the team? How about trying the "new" Taiwanese restaurant Tung Lai Shun!

I'm sure many hounds here would be interested in hearing your report...
