Redondo Beach Seafood Restaurant?

When I was a child, my parents once took me to this restaurant in Redondo Beach (by the pier) which served crabs by the plateload. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out the restaurant but I can't seem to remember the name. Does anyone happen to know the name of this restaurant or any establishment like it? Thanks a bunch!

Sounds like that might be Captain Kidd's. Cool place, they make a great shark sandwich, too!

Actually, there are plenty of eateries, all pretty mediocre, irrespective of price points. We only go for the (raw) oysters, spectacular variety.

There's also Quality Seafood at the Pier, on a lower level not actually over the water. I think its been there longer than the Pacific Center so it may be the place you're thinking of.

There's one on the pier called Pacific Fish Center, which is an Asian fish market that serves sit-down shellfish (after you order it at the counter). The crabs and lobsters are giant and come with a wooden mallet and a bib. We had a great meal of fresh crab and a fish stew there a few weeks ago.

Floorpie is right. The crab place you are talking about on the RB Pier is Pacific Fish Place (or something like that). It is a Korean joint. The price is not cheap, but good eats. I don't normally get the fresh crabs (because they affect my gastrointestinal system), but for people who like crabs, it's the way to go.

The spicy fish stew is WONDERFUL. Get the larger size.

They also have fried clams and some other traditional fare, but also the more exotic dishes (e.g., octopus), which I have yet to try.
