Poon Kee (Temporarily) Closed?

I don't think I've ever had so much trouble trying to sample a restaurant as with Poon Kee on Monroe St. I think I've tried six times and every time they were closed, though my fellow hounds cleared that up with reference to their short business hours. However I went by yesterday at 11:30am and it was still closed. And perhaps more telling was a brown cardboard sign with the words "re-open soon" scrawled on it. And the sign looked pretty old and worn. Has anybody eaten there recently?

Missed it by that much! And just back from my third New York visit since February, I guess it's wait until next year for me.

Just wanted to confirm Poon Kee is open. I stopped by yesterday and ordered the Tripe. I ordered a medium size. The price went up by 50 cents to $5.50 from $5.
