    1. Not to sound sarcastic, but if you can, I would return that KA food processor. I had bought it, had problems with it, and returned it. I bought the Cuisinart Fp-14, no problems, and very happy with it.

I didn't have any problems with the thickness adjustment lever, HOWEVER I had other problems....I even went through 2 of these KA processors before switching to the Cuisinart FP-14. The problems I had with the KA....On one of them I could not take the bowl off the base. It was so hard to remove, and I had to exert so much strength to remove it. I could not see doing that on a regular basis.
On the other KA I bought, I could remove the bowl from the base, but I could not remove the cover from the bowl. Again, it was on so tight..and I remember trying to get some leverage by pressing my thumb against the handle on the bowl. I imagined one day just cracking the handle on the bowl because of all that pressure. Not worth it.

Bought the Cuisinart...easy on, easy off, not problems.
