Where to buy uncooked corned beef brisket?

I've been to Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Garden of Eden, and no luck. All they have is beef brisket. Thanks!

Fairway on E 86 has in beef case-lots of it swimming in brine-sure to make a vegetarian gag.

Look in the grocery store where the preserved meats like bacon and hot dogs are.

Try calling Fairways at Bway and 74th St. The other day they had a bunch in a refrigerated butchers case, but it might just have been for Super Bowl week.

Maybe provide a little bit more information? The regular corned beef you buy at the grocery store is not cooked or heat-treated. You might find it steamed at a deli on its way to the table, or steamed and smoked to make pastrami. But the "uncooked" version of corned beef is just a brisket.

Er, if you mean by "unprepared" corn beef -- that is just a brisket. Re-reading your comment, I'm wonder if you would have better luck with sliced corn beef just at the neighborhood Gristedes or D'Agostino at the deli counter.

Have you tried a basic grocery store? Every Key Food around me carries it. My butcher too.
