lunch and coffee this weekend

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are arriving mid-morning Saturday for a ski vacation in Cle Elum, but we'd love to first have lunch in the city before our drive east. Can anyone recommend something uniquely Seattle? We're also total coffee snobs and would love to experience the best espresso you can recommend. All suggestions are appreciated!

Thank you!

espresso at Vivace, 901 E Denny Way (cafe nico is among the many memorables here).
A few blocks away is Pike Place Fish Fry.

+1 with Mr Nelso on Vivace - a classic, perfect cup of coffee!

Tho I would suggest heading downhill afterward to Melrose Market. You could either eat lunch at Sitka & Spruce, or do as we like to, and get a dozen oysters next door at Taylor Shellfish with a nice glass of accompanying wine, then we go to calf and kid for a little cheese, pick up a baguette, and get a slice of pate from Rain Shadow Meats to eat with the cheese and pate.
Or, hit the Bar Ferdinand and try a few of their small plates. Kind of a fun mini-marketplace atmosphere here, and very Seattle.
