Breakfast at Five Guys

r

I recently had an early flight out of Dulles Airport, and wanted breakfast in the terminal. I've had some pretty bad breakfasts at airports in the past, so I was looking for something different. To my surprise Five Guys was open and offering a breakfast menu.

I had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and coffee. It was actually pretty good. They made the bacon and eggs fresh for each order, and the cheese was the same as what they use on their cheeseburgers. The only thing I would change would be the bun. They used their hamburger buns, which were a good size, but too soft for a breakfast sandwich, or maybe I'm just used to English muffins.

I'm not sure what kind of coffee they served, but it was good also.

So, if you're ever at Dulles Airport in DC at breakfast time, and don't want the usual microwaved breakfast food, give them a try.

I don't know why, but the Five Guys at DCA (Reagan Nat'l) serves the best burgers of any airport Five Guys.

All the more reason for Five Guys to get rid of that bloated dough bun and replace it with a proper potato roll. Works for Shake Shack.

You guys are CRAZY. The bun is the best part of the breakfast sandwich. We need an act of Congress to get breakfast at every Five Guys location.

I had the 5 Guys breakfast sandwich at National Airport a couple of years ago. Not bad, but I agree with you - having it on one of their hamburger buns was pretty weird. A more appropriate bread would make it much better.

Thanks Reston -- I've been thinking about trying the Five Guys near my office for breakfast, but have been leery of being served a really greasy mess. This sounds pretty good and I'll give it a shot.

I wonder how many of the five guys even serve breakfast. The two closest in PA do not. Is it optional? I know most subways added breakfast when the parent co ordered them to.

Lots of airport restaurants serve breakfast that woudn't normally in the 'burbs.

                Like Chipotle, Sabarro's.
