The Restaurant Dessert Thread

  • 7

I am a dessert person. I have been a bit disappointed lately (and by that, I mean, in the last few years) with the caliber of desserts I get from the restaurants I have visited. I feel that an upscale restaurant should have delicious and beautifully presented (creative) desserts. Especially for 8 to 10 bucks a pop. Does anyone have a NY area restaurant (or Northeast) that serves high-end and delicious desserts to recommend? Please specify if the desserts were creative and unusual.

  1. I'm a fan of the peanut butter bomb thing at Le Marais.

    1. I like the frozen blueberry crisp at Mike's Bistro

      1. The plumb tower thingie at sushi metzuyan, and any dessert from Pardes

        1. Pardes. Creative, beautiful, delicious. (And it goes without saying, entirely homemade.)

          1. Pardes desserts are amazing.

last week I had a coconut flan sauced with avocado puree, accompanied by chunks of white melon and serves with wedges of filo dough crisped in duck fat and crusted with coconut. I'm not getting the description quite as it was on the menu, but the flavors, the mouth feel the whole experience was heavenly. Simply heavenly.
