Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Washington, Oregon and Alaska (exc. Seattle and Portland)

Bellingham: Boomer's Drive In

In the mood for some very basic chow? It is anniversary month at Boomer's and you can get any burger for $2.99. February is almost the only time we go to Boomer's to take advantage of their yearly sale and it can be crowded. But it is fun to grab a burger, fries, onion rings, shake or whatnot once in a while. And, it's pretty good food for cheap eats.

IIRC LC's a pescetarian. They do have fish & chips, fish burger, garden burger, etc.

      I love their waffle fries ! :-D

Dick's in Seattle is cheap, cheap, cheap too. All the time !

Yup, LotusRapper is right. Pescatarian. But if you saw my post on the Veggie Group's Facebook, we all ordered veggie burgers. The straight up veggie cheese burger was at the $2.99 sale price. But, we were very disappointed that they charged us an extra $1.25 each to swap out a veggie patty for meat patty on the mushroom swiss burgers that we ordered. That just didn't seem right to me. If you have veg burgers for the same price as meat burgers, why charge extra just to swap them out on a standard menu item. Vegetarians get ripped off with extra charges like that all the time!

That sucks. Did you bring that to management's attention ?

How are their F&C and fish burgers (if you've ever ate them) ?

Never tried any fishy stuff at Boomer's.I am planning to send a message to the manager about the extra charges for veg burgers. I suppose the sad truth may be that the veggie patty might actually cost more than the cheapo meat patty. Kinda' scary, but I wouldn't be surprised. Either way, they should honor the sale price for their burgers during the anniversary sale.

You're quite possibly right about the higher price of the veggie patty. Even if they had told you in advance the patty swap would cost a bit more that would have been better from a customer service standpoint.

Is it no longer possible to edit our own posts? Was going to clarify that we are two pescatarians and one strict vegetarian.
