Top Chef in Seattle next season?
Rumor has it that they want to come to Seattle for Season 10.
With so many great up and coming talent in our local food scene. Which local cheftestants would we all like to see go up against Tom and Padma?
Also who would you think will be guest judges?

For all of us wondering how to get on Restaurant Wars...you have to know someone. Seattle Met just had a behind the scenes type article:

Any reports of Toyota Rav 4's pulling up, en masse, at a Whole Foods Market with people faux hawks, wearing white, jumping out and running crazily through the store?

Yikes, they want the city to cough up 200-300K?? The show's a huge hit and must make $$$, given that they don't have to pay actors or screenwriters...they can't shell out for regular expenses?

It's a huge shakedown racket, like the Olympics writ small.
$300k seems low, but maybe that's just the city's expected contribution. The business community is expected to kick in serious value- I've heard from a local restaurateur whom I don't want to introubulate that among the items on the producers' checklist/wishlist is *10,000* hotel room/nights provided free of charge to the production - and that's just the start. The production doesn't pay for anything but the hosts and crews.

I don't know where to start. But first just being the "host" city really doesn't mean the chefs are all from the area. Another thing is this season of top chef is sucking , tonight there is a Pee Wee Herman pancake challenge and we have three or four, I think episodes left.. Nothing against Pee Wee but this type of episode should be early in the season.. Top Chef is turning in to a joke..For so many reasons..
But maybe Top chef will reinvent its self next season and Seattle will be in the middle of it.
One can only hope.

Whether you like the way Top Chef is going or not, it would be a boon for Seattle host the show.
It is a great showcase show, in that they use venues around the area, show shots of key attractions in every episode, etc. Certainly for the amount of money the article says it would take to underwrite the show (2-3 $100k), that is SO cheap for that kind of exposure.
Come on Seattle, cough up the dough! Great ROI for sure.....
