Dinner near Barbican? [London]

Hello, does anyone have suggestions for great restaurants near Barbican Centre? Happy to walk 20 mins. or so to find something with a nice vibe that's also delicious. Have been to St. John and love it, but looking for other suggestions as well. Thanks for your help!

Pham Sushi on Whitecross Street is great. Probably the place I miss most now that I no longer work in the area. Alba, also on Whitecross Street is a solid modern italian. Morgan M is a good choice too - especially good cheeseboard worth saving space for! Bistro Bruno Loubet or The Modern Pantry are both decent (Bruno Loubet would be my choice from the two), but possibly a bit of a walk from the barbican...

We'll be up at Sadlers Wells next weekend, and I decided to try Bruno Loubet (recently seen on Masterchef). I've wanted to get there for awhile and it seemed someplace of note fairly close. I don't think a taxi would break the bank.

I had a fabulous meal there not long after it opened (although the service left a bit to be desired). Would only be about five minutes in a cab so definitely worthwhile if you are in the area.

Bistrot Bruno Loubet is great, or Sedap on Old St?

Hix is quite good and if you fancy a more casual wine bar style, vinoteca's also worth a try. Some people also like Morgan M, though I haven't been.
