Does Wawa still have golden sauce for their hoagies?

I don't see it anymore on their menus. I'm not imagining having eaten it, am I?

I've been getting food from Wawa all my life and never heard of this golden sauce you speak of.

I saw it in Philly, which is where I primarily bought Wawa hoagies, about 5-6 years ago.

It might have been a "test marketing" product, but i too have been frequenting Wawa for years and have never heard of it.

I've never seen that at Wawa.

I don't know if it was called "golden sauce", but it was golden in color, had the consistency of an oil rather than being thick like a ranch dressing or mayo, and was real good on meatball hoagies. I wish I could remember the flavor. I was mostly patronizing the Manayunk/Germantown/Chestnut Hill area Wawas at the time. If it was a test item, it wasn't labeled as such in the ordering computer.

Almost sounds like a flavored oil similar to what Lee's Hoagie house uses.

Could be. I've never been to a Lee's Hoagie House, so I'm not confusing it with Wawa.

Sort of, but I can't imagine adding that to a meatball sandwich.

I managed to find somebody in the Bala Cynwyd Wawa that remembers this stuff. He said it was discontinued a few years ago. Bummer! He wasn't sure why (too expensive, nobody but me ordered it, dispute with the manufacturer, etc).

Did you find out what it was actually called?

It was in fact called "Golden Sauce". He didn't know who manufactured it.

I used to work in a Wawa years ago and I there was a golden colored sauce which went onto a few of the varieties of wraps. I believe it was called Cattlemans Ranch, but a quick google search didn't come up with anything.

The sauce I referred to definitely didn't have Ranch flavor, because if it did I wouldn't have put it on my sandwiches.

                        Nevermind, it was Cattleman's Gold.

Yep, that must have been it. That mustardy flavor would have been great with meatballs.
