Wedding in NYC for 60-80 people - looking for a restaurant - suggestions???

My boyfriend and I are from Toronto, Canada but LOVE New York and so are planning our wedding to be in the conservatory gardens in Central Park on June 9th.

Afterwards, we would like to have a nice meal at a decent restaurant preferably in the meatpacking/west village/soho/tribeca area and ideally it would also have an outdoor space for a cocktail hour before dinner. Our budget is approximately $10,000-$15,000 and we expect between 60 to 80 people. We recognize that if we end up with 80 people that our budget will have to increase to $20,000, but would prefer to aim closer to $15,000.

We would appreciate any suggestions!

Also just a bit about us, we are in our early 30s, "young professionals" and are hoping that there will be somewhere fun nearby (or the restaurant itself) for fun night out after dinner, but this is not the priority in our choice of restaurants.

Thanks so much in advance!

  1. The Bowery hotel has a nice place for a party with an outdoor terrace. The Varick Room at Tribeca, has a nice room with a bar, and catering but no outdoor space. Other places are City Winery, Tribeca Tap House (Franklin Room).
