Confiserie Louise Decarie

Mandarine Jan 29, 2012 04:10 PM

I am so sad!  My favorite little candy store on St Denis is closing!  Louise Decarie Confiserie was a favorite for special treats. She is retiring and I don't know of any other little Bonbonnerie that even comes close to hers. So glad I got in there today. She really took the time to decorate each and every package of candy personally and took immense pleasure in ordering unique and delicious candies from all over the world. This was no M&M's or jelly beans candy store and I will sorely miss her treats!  Enjoy your retirement, Louise!

Mandarine, what sort of candies did you prefer at that confiserie? I can always check my neighborhood candy store (Sparkles) to see if they carry your favourites.

You can get an idea of what she carried from looking at the web site. http://www.confiserielouisedecarie.com/ It's mostly imported French stuff. It's nothing you can't get elsewhere, but the store was cute and the staff was very friendly.

Thanks! The Confiserie's products are indeed more European and French than my local candyshop.

        C'est dommage.
