Sam Choy's vs Fishhopper for Valentine's Day Dinner
We find ourselves in Kona for Valentine's Day. We do not want to go to the high end places on V Day [we don't normally dine out on that night at home] for obvious reasons.
Trying to decide between Sam Choy's [just the regular menu as far as I can tell] and Fishhopper [they have a special menu and regular one too].
Any input is appreciated~

We were in Kona a couple of years ago and had planned to go to Rapanui but it was unexpectedly closed. A saleswoman recommended the Fishhopper. There was someone outside giving out free app coupons so we decided to give it a try. I didn't hold out much hope for the food but, boy, was I wrong. I had a macadamia nut crusted fish with rice pilaf that was the best I've ever had. It was really delicious. The other dishes were good, too. We also enjoyed sitting by the window and watching the local outrigger canoe teams practice. It's not elegant or romantic, but we really enjoyed our dinner there.

re: DebitNM
We ended up having dinner at Fishhopper on our first night in Kona. We had "Crispy" calamari which was ok but nothing special and not crispy at all. I had MahiMahi and Scallop special which was not "special" it was pretty bland. Nicely cooked, but bland. Hubby had lehi which he liked, but also pretty bland. I would pass on this one.
