I read the earlier posts in November about Trade, wondering if the mixed reviews have improved, anyone been recently, got specific suggestions? And should we do drinks there before dinner, or somewhere else nearby?

    1. We were there a couple of weeks ago and two of us split four small plates and a salad and the fish entree. The eggplant small plate was excellent, and surprisingly, the fried dough was too - not at all sweet or greasy or doughnut-like as I had feared. The gingered beet salad and the fish were very good as well, nicely prepared although the potatoes on the side were way overcooked. The other two small plates were fine, nothing wrong with them, but they didn't stand out like the ones I mentioned. I've heard mixed reviews from others too, but we both were pleased and would enjoy returning to try some of the other things. Can't say much about drinks as we had wine by the glass - decent quality and reasonably priced.

      Q

      1. I thought the drinks were fine, but nothing really blew me away. For food, the avocado dish and chicken liver dish were amazing. Everything else was fine, but didn't really do much for me.

        1. The place is VERY LOUD making it impossible to have a conversation. Trade is really a loud bar (with drunk young professionals) that happens to serve food. Once seated, the noise level was still high so we could only talk to the person in the next seat. Service was disorganized. It was hard to figure out who our waiter was. We asked for bread but they don't serve it here. Instead, we had to order an $11.00 flatbread to augment our pasta dishes. It took forever for drinks to arrive. The food was just average and overpriced. By the time we were done, we were hoarse, disappointed and irritated..
