Anonymous Restaurant Near Snug Harbor

There is an unnamed, unmarked, great restaurant fairly near the Snug Harbor jazz club. It's legendary in the neighborhood. Some musicians mentioned this to me, but none of them could come up with an actual address. Can anyone help?

It must be kept very quiet indeed. The only thing I can think of that comes close to being an "unmarked" restaurant in that area is the taco stand at the back of Cafe Negril. They're okay -- good for late night and cheap -- but nothing particularly notable. Interested to hear what you learn.

It may be that it's unlicensed, in which case I won't post (don't want to get them in trouble). But, FWIW, I'm told that staff in the Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro know the place. So I'm planning to ask them about it.

Again, it's a legend among local musicians. Which makes it pretty much ground zero for me.

if it's a legend amongst local musicians, i think it would be a legend (or at least known) to us all. musicians dont keep secrets that well! :)

Adolpho's is casual reasonable Creole Italian above the Apple Barrel bar.

      Adolpho's @ 611 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 504 - 948 - 3800.

As I said, it's unnamed. And unsigned. I hear good things about Adolfo's, but it's both named and signed.

It's not going to be a place lots of people know about.

        Anyone....?
