Seafood Lunch Out for Dad

Hi all
My parents are coming into town this weekend and it is my father's 60th. We are looking for a good place to go for lunch and my dad loves seafood. He is a relatively simply sort of fellow so he would likely be uncomfortable at Blue Water or somewhere like Season's so I am looking for a few suggestions of a nice place to go that serves good seafood. I was thinking Rodney's as it is quite casual but the reviews are mixed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well it's too late for your Dad's 60th, but maybe sometime before his 61st you would like to check out the Windjammer at their new location at 937 Commercial. In addition to having the best fish and chips in town, they offer other options such as grilled fish on their menu. The ambience is less desireable than the old location at 15/Main - the new one is rather sterile, but the food is even better than it used to be - check it out!

Where part(s) of town will work best for you ?

What cuisine(s) your dad would appeal to ?

A few ideas just to throw out there (downtown and False Creek area):

      - Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House
      - YEW (4 Seasons Hotel)
      - Victoria Chinese Seafood Restaurant (Hyatt Hotel)
      - The Sandbar (Granville Island)
      - Provence Marinaside (False Creek north side)

I think any one of the above also would be of appropriate ambiance, as well as not be in the Blue Water/Season's league of pricing and "haute-ness". Sandbar or Provence Marinaside also offers good strolls afterward nearby.
