Can't Unsubscribe from Newsletters

When I first joined Chow, I signed up to receive several newsletters, but later I decided that I didn't want them any longer. I went into the Settings/Newsletters tab in my profile, unchecked all of the boxes and clicked "Update Subscriptions". Problem is, I am still receiving newsletters, even though all of the boxes in my Newsletters tab remain unchecked. Not sure what to do about this. Can anyone help?

  1. I did a global unsubscribe on your registered email address, so hopefully that'll help. If you get any further emails after today, can you forward them to info@chow.com so we can take a look?

    1. Unsubscribe seems to be broken. Days after unsubscribing, i'm still getting emails. I'd like to unsubscribe from everything except the digests.

        I'm continuing to get these unwanted emails. If the only way to do this is unsubscribe everyting on my email address, please do so. I'll resubscribe to anything I ight want.

          If you visit http://www.chow.com/newsletters do any of the boxes appear with checks? Or do they appear empty despite the emails you're receiving?

            A picture is worth a thousand words. i unchecked those boxes over a week ago.

              Do you remember if you signed in with that box on the upper right side of the site? And are the newsletters coming to the same address that you use for your user login? I ask because there is a separate newsletter list for email addresses that originate in the upper righthand corner that we are investigating...

                When the site logs me out, i click on the 'login' link in the upper right. That gives the login popup window. i don't see any box.

                The newsletters go as they always have to the email address Chow has on record. There's been no change to that since i joined in 2006.

                i mentioned it as a bug because it seems someone else had this problem.

                i never thought of this, but I guess i could try using the unsubscribe link in each of the four or five emails i get and see if I can unsubscribe that way. Haven't looked but I assume there is a unsubsribe link in the emails.

                However, unclicking the boxes is not stopping the newsletters.

                I've been subscribing to recipes for years. When Chow put some new newsletter in a while (few months?) back, I gave those a try. It has been a while since I've changed my subscriptions.

                Our newsletter system claims your current selections match what shows up on the profile page, so no leads there. Which other newsletters are you still receiving?
