Sapp's Coffee Shoppe, on sunset.
I've never been but I remember years ago, people raving about the boat noodle soup... Is it still any good?
Or long past it's prime in that stretch of thai town.

It's actually on Hollywood, between Normandie and Western. The boat noodles are still great, though do try some other specials there too - lately I've really enjoyed the catfish, the green mussels, and the spicy crab noodles (with real crab, not that rubbery 'krab' stuff). The only thing I've had at Sapp that I didn't care for was the som tam (green papaya salad), mostly because I've had it much better elsewhere.

I love their boat noodles but I don't get it with the liver option.

Still good. All the "cool" kids are at Pa-Ord, but Sapp's been there forever, and produces a solid bowl without the wait.

I love Pa-Ord, but Sapp is still the king for boat noodles. Pa-Ord has the spicing right... missing some of the funk...

I love Pa-Ord. Their Tom Yum noodles are excellent.
Seems we were just recently rhapsodizing about this place!

Love, love, LOVE Sapp. I live in Thai Town, and so far, its my favorite restaurant!

I've definitely enjoyed my fair share of jade noodles and crab fried rice there as well (though the crab fried rice tends to meander somewhere between fine and great, depending on your luck).

Love it. I either get a noodle soup or they also have this spicy duck stir-fry which is pretty excellent. Really nice people too. It should win some award for longevity in goodness and price.
