Suggestions near Mt. Sinai Hospital
My wife is in a very slow labor at Mt. Sinai Hospital, and I can't keep eating all my meals at the East Harlem location of Moustache.
If you have a good CH suggestion in the area of Madison and 100, please let me know. I'm sure there are some treasures nearby.

Can't agree on San Matteo -- my one recent experience was not a good one, undercooked, underdressed pizza and meatballs that were cold in the middle. For real Italian pizza plus a few specialties, a few tables but mostly takeout, I love Little Luzzo's on 96th between Lexington and Park.

The folks behind Earl's Beer and Cheese just opened a wine bar called ABV on Lexington and 97th that I will probably check out tomorrow, but in the meantime I recommend Earl's as a solid place for a sandwich and a beer. Right by Moustache, there is good Senegalese at La Galette, Thai at Gong and Mexican at Jalapeño Deli. Maharaja Palace is the local Indian joint and not half bad. Little Luzzo is the place to hit up for pizza. If you order delivery, check out Cafe Ollin and Milk Burger.

Earl's Beer & Cheese is nearby. It can get quite crowded but they often do have a few good beers on tap and the food is pretty good (I love the grilled cheese sandwich that has the pickles on an english muffin).

If you like good Mexican, try E Paso Taqueria on 97th between Madison & Park. Also good for takeout, including excellent desserts is Champignon on Madison between 96th & 97th. Best of luck!
